오늘은 **ChatGPT 내 새로운 이미지 모델, GPT Image 2가 등장한다는 소식**을 다룹니다.

## 나노 바나나 대항마, GPT-Image 2

- OpenAI가 차세대 이미지 모델을 테스트 중인 것으로 보입니다. [Chatbot Arena](https://lmarena.ai/?ref=blog.secondbrush.co.kr)(AI 모델 블라인드 비교 플랫폼)에 **maskingtape, gaffertape, packingtape**라는 코드명의 이미지 모델 세 종이 등장했고, 일부 ChatGPT 사용자에게도 기존과 다른 이미지 모델이 무작위로 적용되고 있다는 제보가 나오고 있습니다.
- Arena 블라인드 테스트에서 이 모델들이 텍스트 렌더링 등 일부 항목에서 **Nano Banana Pro보다 높은 평가**를 받았다는 분석이 있습니다. 다만 공식 리더보드 결과가 아닌 커뮤니티 분석이므로 참고 수준입니다.
- OpenAI는 아직 공식 발표를 하지 않았습니다. Arena 테스트와 ChatGPT 베타 롤아웃이 동시에 진행되는 것은 정식 출시가 가까워졌다는 뜻이지만, 정식 런칭 시점은 미정입니다.

### (추정) GPT Image 2 로 생성된 이미지

앞서 '**일부 ChatGPT 사용자에게도 무작위로 적용되고 있다**'고 말씀드렸는데요, 운좋게도 그게 저의 계정인 것 같습니다. GPT Image 2로 추정되는 이미지 생성 결과를 프롬프트와 함께 공유드립니다.

## 마무리

1. 앞서 말씀드렸듯, 아직 GPT Image 2와 관련하여 공식 발표가 난 것은 아닙니다. X에 유출된 이미지와 유사한 결과물을 받는 것으로 보아, 새로운 이미지 모델이 제 계정에 적용되었다고 추정할 뿐입니다. 이 점 참고 부탁드립니다.
2. 생성된 결과물을 보면, 이미지 내 한글 텍스트가 잘 표현됩니다. X에 올라온 의견을 보면 중국어 표현능력도 좋아졌다고 합니다. 이미지 내 조명 표현도 좋아지고, 이전보다 훨씬 선명한 이미지가 생성됩니다. GPT 특유의 누런 필터도 거의 느껴지지 않습니다.
3. Gemini의 나노 바나나와 비교했을 때, **사용자의 의도를 잘 이해하고, 이미지 생성이 된 후 추가 요청을 하더라도 요청사항이 잘 반영된다**는 느낌을 받았습니다. 예를 들어, '샘 알트맨이 한국 스타벅스에서 셀피 찍은 사진 만들어줘' 라고 입력했을 때, 챗GPT는 제가 생각한 대로 '샘 알트맨의 모습이 담긴 *사진*'을 만들어줬지만, 나노 바나나는 자꾸만 '사진을 찍고 있는 *장면*'을 만들어줘서 여러번 시도해야 했습니다.

1. 이제 정말 무엇을 믿어야 할까요? 앞으로는 '**그럴듯한 가짜가 쉽게 먹히는 구간'이 길게 올 가능성**이 큽니다. AI로 인해 진실과 진정성이 더 중요해지는 사회가 올 것 같지만, **검증하지 않는 다수를 겨냥해 조작을 하고자하는 사회**가 먼저 올 것입니다. 그럴수록 **신뢰를 확인하고 증명하는 데 더 많은 비용**이 들게 될 것입니다. 앞으로 중요한 자산은 부동산과 같은 소유물만이 아니라, **'신뢰를 형성하고 유지하고 입증할 수 있는 능력'**이 될지도 모릅니다.
2. 신뢰성을 검증하기 어렵다면, 가장 안전한 선택은 일단 타인을 의심하고 보는 것입니다. 앞으로 이런 선택이 사회 구성원 간 기본값이 될까 우려스럽습니다. 그 의심이 너무 쉽게 낙인으로 이어질 수도 있기 때문입니다.
